Embodied Memories

This series of works explores how memory functions, feels, and is experienced through the processes of painting. I am motivated by the way in which memory becomes fragmented and dislocated over time. I embody these ideas by concentrating on how the mental image of memory is related to the emotional significance of a person or place, which is transformed through the act of painting. Using color, form, and applications of paint, I use the act of painting to communicate the emotions that are the driving force behind my paintings.
